Clairefontaine uses 100% fast-growing and sustainable bamboo for their BAMBOO watercolour paper.
This warm, ivory-white paper has a silky touch and a delicate, fine grain, ensuring excellent colour absorption. The long fibres characteristic of bamboo, the higher weight of 250gsm and the professional sizing — it is surface-sized ánd internally sized — make it surprisingly strong. It can withstand rougher techniques, whilst multiple corrections won’t damage it.
This paper is perfect for wet-in-wet techniques and washes with watercolour, gouache, acrylic colours & casein. It also readily accepts ink, graphite, charcoal and chalk and lends itself to mixed-media techniques.
